KEEP YOUR DREAMS — Don’t Allow Anyone to Tell You Cannot Do it

Once in a class, a teacher gave an assignment to the students to write their dream in life. What they want to achieve in this life? What are their dream goals?

All the students wrote different things — some wrote our dream is a good job, some wrote getting more wealth but what the students had written were not clear and definite. They have no such definiteness of purpose, definiteness of their goals. But one student Harry wrote that I have a dream to own a horse ranch. He described his goal in a greater detail and even drew a diagram of the ranch showing the location of all the buildings, stables and the track. Then he drew a detailed floor plan for a 4000 square-foot-house that would sat on a 200 acre dream ranch.

When the teacher was checking the paper, he saw that paper written by Harry. Teacher returned the paper to Harry with a big red F on it.

Harry when saw the Big F on the paper, he went to the teacher and asked him why he has given him F grade.

Teacher told Harry that your goal and dream is unrealistic. You are a young boy and you have no money to build such a ranch as it requires a lot of money. You have to buy land. You have no resources available. This is just not possible for you to achieve such an unrealistic dream.

Now if you can rewrite on this paper a more realistic goal that I will reconsider your grade.

Harry went home and consulted his father. His father told him that look son — you have to make up your mind. It is a very important decision for you.

Finally, after sitting for a week and thinking about it, Harry has made his mind. He has decided, no matter what, how and where, I will achieve my goal. I will turn this so called unrealistic into realistic one. I will pursue my dreams. I will turn it into a reality. He returned that paper to the teacher and wrote on the paper that,

You can keep your grade — I will keep my dream.

Harry worked hard to achieve his dream and he finally did it.

Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe — Gail Devers

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. –Eleanor Roosevelt

Dreams can only come true when you have insane amount of belief in them. We people have a lot of dreams but we have no belief. We don’t believe it and the worst part of having dreams or having a goal to achieve something, that we ourselves don’t believe that it can be achieved. So how can dream can be turned into a reality if I myself don’t believe. Because belief starts from you inside and if you from your core inside don’t believe in it that how you will gain the power and momentum to pursue it.

Now look at Harry, he belonged to a poor family, he has no resources but he achieved what he dreamed. Now what made him achieve his dream. His INSANE amount of BELIEF in his DREAM.

All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them. Walt Disney

Follow your dreams, believe in yourself and don’t give up. Rachel Corrie

Like the teacher of Harry, who has tried his best to steal his dream. Who has tried his best to muscle his dream under this grade. He has tried his best to bury it there in his heart and let it there like a wish and don’t allow it to nurture and grow like a dream.

Our school system is like the same from hundreds of years. Our teachers and our education system is still the dream killer. We only strive for grades. We only consider a good grade as the key to all success. We don’t allow our children to have big dreams, big goals. We don’t allow them to think. We don’t allow them to be THINKERS — DREAMERS. We just try our best to make them follow the same old path that we had travelled, that lead to nowhere but regrets in the end.

So We have to change our school system. We have to revolutionize it. We have to make it so that it can produce dreamers, thinkers, innovators. We have to stop production of job chasers.

A city is not gauged by its length and width, but by the broadness of its vision and the height of its dreams. Herb Caen

Now every change begins from us — from the within. We can only change the school system, our education system, if we first change ourselves. So we have to start this change from ourselves.

So ALWAYS KEEP YOUR DREAMS and DON’T ALLOW ANYONE TO TELL YOU CANNOT DO IT.
